Spencer has over 20 years of experience working with clientele of all ages and stages of development, from children & adolescents to adults. He currently serves as a Clinical Director for Forensic Mental Health Services at a state juvenile corrections facility in Texas. He is a licensed psychological associate (LPA) as well as a licensed chemical dependency counselor intern (LCDC-I). Spencer is a skilled practitioner in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, behavioral analysis, and various modalities of trauma-informed care. Outside of his full-time employment, he has held the role of adjunct instructor for Park University and Nevada State College, where he facilitated undergraduate courses in the subject areas of Psychology and Sociology. As a contract clinician, he provided counseling and therapy services to adolescent boys at a residential treatment center in North Houston. Spencer presently serves as a contract speaker/trainer on behavioral health issues for both the juvenile and adult corrections industry. Always moving forward, he is now pursuing his educational doctorate (EdD) in Executive Leadership in Mental Health and Human Services with Houston Baptist University.

 

Family is Spencer’s highest priority. He is a devoted husband to his wife, Maria. They have been married for 20 years and are proud parents of a blended family of 4 adult children.
